Today’s Commentary 3-11
This daily rant will be a Quote of the Day, taken out of a gift from my oldest daughter. It’s called, “The Daily Book of Positive Quotations”, by Linda Picone.* I’m including the Quote of the Day with the Author’s comment and the “Affirmation” noted afterwards. I’ll comment from my perspective & understanding of the Law of Attraction (LoA) to the overriding thought of the author and Quote and offer my Opinion for that Vibe.
If you have read or are following this thread of Vibrational Offerings; you’ll notice that I skip a few days. This is not because I felt the Daily Quote on those days, were any less important but because they didn’t offer a point of view that inspired sufficient contrast on which to comment.
Today’s Thought: Thoughts of Change
“Change your thoughts and you change your world!”- Norman Vincent Peale
Author’s Take: Today the author alludes to the idea of (PMA) Positive Mental Attitude and the belief that what we think determines the outcome of the situations or opportunities we find along our Life Paths. Deciding that we Can or Can’t do something sets the belief in motion to verify our thoughts or beliefs. A lot of opportunities are lost because of the (mis)belief that we may not succeed.
Ending Thought: “If I catch a negative thought crossing my mind, I can toss it out and replace it with a more positive one.”
I can not think of this Author of the opening statement without remembering my youth and the beginnings of my understanding of how the mind has dominion over the physical by merely focusing our thoughts toward the desired outcome. I read his book, “Think & Grow Rich” at the age of 13. Today through the LoA, I have been able to put into words the ideas formed by this, as well as many other “Self-Help” writings!
This premises has been touted by many over time but more so in the last 3-4 decades. More people are accepting the concept of individual creativity through the power of the mind. It is even being studied by Science & Quantum Physics. As misunderstood as this concept is, it still works, for all. Like Gravity, you don’t have to know How it works or believe in it because you won’t Fall Up is you didn’t.
In a previous commentary I mentioned the very same concept put forth by Buddha over 2,500 years ago. He said; “We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.”
That is a lot for most people to grasp wholly and accept as a (the) True Reality. Most folk look at their “world”; seeing everything that makes up the physical which we live in, as Reality and think/believe that the Physical is REAL!!! For the most part, that is correct because we can See, Feel, Hear & Taste it, Now. It is “REAL”, to the accepted idea of what reality has been.
In truth, NOW is already the past, as it has already occurred. Each moment that Passes by becomes the Past and a new Now is the Reality of the Present; until the next moment. Every moment in time is an opportunity to Start Over as each moment brings a New “Reality” into being…
Everything we see, came from a thought first. Had it not been thought of, it would not exist until someone thought it was needed, thereby bringing it into creation and reality.
So how does this allow us to “…change our world.”? The same way it has changed it throughout time. Early man needed a method of changing meat from the Raw, near indigestible into a Food we could eat. They learned to harness the power of Fire and how to Cook. We needed a more efficient manner of moving objects too heavy for us to carry, we developed the Wheel. These two simple concepts; that we, today take for granted; changed the entire world. Imagine where we would be without either or both those earliest thoughts of (desire) Need. We have since ‘Changed” our world with every new invention. Fire has become the Microwave (not the best example or product-to me) and the Wheel has become more efficient and adaptable to our needs, again.
What if we think of the Negative versions of the Positive ideas that have brought these changes. The wheel & fire have both been used as weapons to overpower and eliminate our perceived rivals; for whatever reason. The Microwave can and is used in a negative manner. These thoughts make the changes we accepted as we were told or taught, that it is for the benefit of the whole. From the earliest times, Tribes & Clans fought for land, food or mating rights, to today as we War on the world for Oil, precious gems or metals and food for everyone.
Where or how is the LoA involved with this process? We create our Own reality (Individually & Collectively). It is through our Thought & Emotional vibrational offerings and the response of LoA Attracting the Like vibrations to it; setting up a Momentum of Creation. As the early WE thought of the need for a Wheel, it was thought of and wanted by more than a few individuals. The collective thought & attention of the need brought about the manifestation of the physical object for use. LoA responds to each vibration draws more of the same vibration to it, making it stronger until the vibrations of the “desire” and the vibration of the Physical need match or synchronize and it becomes manifest.
We all believe and ACCEPT all we see as being as we see it, and it is so. We take for granted that it’s here but not how it Got here!! Where did the materials & resources for it’s creation come from? If we could all change the collective belief; as One Mind; the world we see would be the mirror of the new belief. The old belief would not or have ever existed being replaced by the Current reality.
This concept, this Universal law, this belief can be applied to the individual just as easily by a mental change of perspective. Buddha also said, “The mind is everything. What you think, you become.”
I think some clarity was lost in the translation, especially the word “…everything.” I believe it might have been meant to mean more of Supreme or Master. Giving the power of our thoughts an aspect of the All, bringing the human mind to the leading edge of creation of the Now reality.-JMO
Happy Creating!
